Originally from Harrisonburg, VA, Dr. Byrd is happy to be back home in Virginia. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from James Madison University before attending the Medical University of South Carolina, where she achieved her lifelong goal of becoming a dentist. She later completed a General Practice Residency at the University of North Carolina, expanding her clinical, surgical, and patient-care skills.
After residency, Dr. Byrd married Dr. Richard Boyd and moved to Boston, where she gained valuable experience in private practice while he completed his residency. The couple then moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where they continued practicing dentistry before ultimately settling in Richmond, VA.
Dr. Byrd, Richard, their two children, and their British lab, Lyla, are enjoying being closer to family and embracing life in Virginia once again.
